KARACHI: Pakistan Army retained the second spot in the Pakistan Premier Football League (PPL) as they defeated Pakistan Elecktron Limited (Pel) 2-1, while Pakistan Air Force (Paf) drew against PMC Athletico in a goalless match.
Army’s striker Imran Hussain scored the first goal of the match in the 23rd minute as Army led 1-0, before Muhammad Imran doubled the lead nine minutes later. However, Saadullah netted a goal for Pel in the 38th minute but that was their only success as Army sealed the win.
Army have 33 points in the PPL following the win, while Pel have 23 and are placed on the sixth position. Meanwhile, PAF moved to the fifth place with 25 points and Athletico are at the 10th position in the 16-team PPL.
